The word "lessons" existed. It was specific, clear, and widely understood. It adds nothing to "lessons" except an extra syllable and a vague sense of corporate modernity. Inducted for unnecessary existence.
Ideate
"Think of ideas" and "brainstorm" were available. "Ideate" arrived anyway. It means to form ideas. The word "think" also means to form ideas. "Ideate" is "think" wearing a business casual outfit. Inducted for replacing a perfectly good word with a worse one.
Impactful
Means "having an impact." The word "significant," "meaningful," or "effective" would serve the same purpose with more precision. "Impactful" is vague in a way that sounds specific. Inducted for the illusion of precision.
Synergize
The verb form of synergy. "Work together" was available. "Collaborate" was available. "Synergize" arrived to describe the same activity with more syllables and less clarity. Inducted for turning a noun into a verb when a perfectly good verb already existed.
Thought leadership
Describes the practice of sharing expertise and insights to establish credibility. "Expertise" and "credibility" were available. "Thought leadership" arrived to describe the same thing in a way that sounds more impressive. Inducted for self-congratulatory vagueness.
Value-add
Means "something useful." "This is a value-add" means "this is useful." The phrase "this is useful" is shorter, clearer, and equally accurate. Inducted for replacing a simple word with a compound noun.
The shame criterion: A buzzword earns hall of shame status when it replaces a clearer, simpler word with a more complicated one that means the same thing. The replacement adds no precision. It adds only the appearance of sophistication.
